Petrolimex urgently overcomes damage and ensures service to people after storm Yagi

(Chinhphu.vn) – By the morning of September 9, almost all Petrolimex gas stations in Hai Phong city and Quang Ninh province – the localities that suffered the most damage after storm No. 3 (Yagi) – had fixed the problems and returned to stable operations to serve the essential needs of the people.

Petrolimex Chairman of the Board of Directors Pham Van Thanh and Petrolimex General Director Dao Nam Hai directed the repair of damage at key petroleum projects in Ha Long, Quang Ninh.
On the morning of September 8, Mr. Pham Van Thanh – Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) and Mr. Dao Nam Hai – General Director of Petrolimex, along with the Group’s working delegation, were present in Bac Ninh, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh to direct the damage recovery at important petroleum projects of B12 Petroleum Company (Petrolimex Quang Ninh) and Petroleum Company Region III (Petrolimex Hai Phong).
Quick statistics show that Typhoon Yagi damaged offices, warehouses, oil ports, export terminals and more than 50 petroleum stores belonging to B12, Region III and Bac Ninh, with ceilings blown off, roofs blown off, roof trim torn, price boards broken, and pump columns collapsed.
Petrolimex General Director Dao Nam Hai said: “Before Typhoon Yagi made landfall, Petrolimex held a meeting to disseminate information to the entire industry about storm and flood response work; especially in key areas along the storm’s path, preparing response scenarios in an effort to minimize risks to people and property, ensuring continuous supply of gasoline and oil, without interruption or shortage of supply before, during and after the storm.”
Petrolimex General Director Dao Nam Hai assessed the damage to the gas station in Hai Phong city.
After the storm passed, in localities that suffered heavy damage such as Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh… Petrolimex activated plans to overcome the damage, quickly stabilized production and business such as focusing on-site resources to fix incidents, running generators at stores, organizing shifts, maintaining sales, and promptly supplying gasoline to serve people’s essential needs.
After the storm, also in the above localities, some Petrolimex gas stations recorded a sudden increase in the number of customers coming to buy gasoline because the power system was completely cut off, so people needed to run generators, while gas stations of other businesses had not yet resumed operations.
Petrolimex leaders affirmed that ensuring sources to serve consumption and production and business needs at gas stations is a top priority along with ensuring safety. In addition, Petrolimex’s gas tanker fleets are ready to supplement the supply of goods for the distribution system on land. However, in order for ships to replenish their fuel storage, Petrolimex needs the coordination of infrastructure systems such as ports, electricity, and telecommunications.
